Your money

Customer funds kept apart from ours

The money in Wam balances is held in segregation from Wam's own money under the Central Bank's safeguarding rules. It is e-money, not a bank deposit, and Wam is not a bank.3

  • Segregated from Wam's operating funds
  • Not lent out or used for Wam's own account
  • E-money, not a bank deposit

No password to steal

Wam is passwordless. You sign in with a secure link sent to your email.

Face ID or fingerprint

Turn on biometrics and confirm payments with your face or fingerprint.

Your devices, your list

See every device signed in to your account and remove the ones you do not use.

Alerts as it happens

Push notifications for payments are the fastest way to spot anything you do not recognise.

Verified identities

We check the identity of people and businesses, and higher limits need more verification.

Limits that protect you

Monthly limits by verification level keep unauthorised activity contained.

Card payments

Card details stay off our servers

Card payments run on Visa Acceptance Solutions (Cybersource). Taps on a phone are read inside the device's secure hardware, and card numbers typed online are tokenised before they reach us.4

  • 3D Secure on every card top-up

Wam staff will not ask for your sign-in link

Not by phone, WhatsApp, email or in person. If someone asks for a sign-in link, a code or access to your phone, it is not us.

Lost your phone?

Contact us in the app from another device or email [email protected], and we will secure your account.

See something you do not recognise?

Tell us straight away with the transaction ID, and remove any device you do not know from your account.

Get a message that seems off?

Do not click links in it. Open the Wam app yourself and check there.
